We are pleased to announce the new incoming FY25 Board of Directors for the Florida South Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers.

Elected board members will officially start serving their term October 1st, 2024.

President-Elect Candidate

Kenneth Crawford, Allied ASID

(Oct 1st 2024 – Sept 30th 2025)

EDUCATION:

CANDIDATE STATEMENT:

With over 37 years of experience as an active, professional interior designer and 26 years as President of my Neighborhood Association, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my candidacy.

My tenure as Vice Chair on the City of Hollywood Planning and Development Board for six years further complements my qualifications.

These partnerships are fundamental in securing sponsorship funds, CEU events, and ongoing support, affirming our chapter’s professionalism and reliability. As an interior design in South Florida for nearly 28 years, I have establish trust and loyalty that have significantly benefitted our chapter and will continue to support our future endeavors. My efforts in promoting our Florida South Chapter through social media platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook have attracted many designers and new industry partners.

I am eager to continue this momentum as the President-Elect of the ASID Florida South Chapter.

  • Joined as a student in 2010 and as an Industry Partner in 2023
  • Assisted with organizing the 2023 DEA Gala, helped with the Christmas Tree Decoration, Fabric Donation, CEU courses, chapter tour representative for Naples Botanical Garden event

CANDIDATE STATEMENT:

As Director At-Large, I will have the opportunity to make direct contributions to the success and well-being of ASID and its members. By advocating for their needs, representing their interests, and enhancing the resources and opportunities available to them within the organization, I can play a vital role in supporting ASID and its members and fostering a sense of community and camraderie within the organization.

By actively engaging with fellow directors and members, we can create a supportive environment where individuals feel valued, heard, and empowered to thrive professionally. Collaboration with other directors and engagement with ASID members will provide opportunities to learn from their insights, best practices, and innovative approaches to design and leadership. 

Through our involvment as Directors At-Large, we hold a pivotal role in advancing the interior design profession. By championing excellence, promoting diversity and inclusion, and advocating for the recognition and value of design professionals, we are shaping a brighter future for the industry and its practitioners. 

This should inspire hope and confidence in our collective ability to make a difference.

HONORS, AWARDS, & PUBLICATIONS:

  • Collaborated with Global Empowerment Mission in Doral, FL to help hurricane victims
  • Chapter Tour Representative for Vizcaya Museum & Gardens Tour
  • Assisted current membership direct with several events and outings
  • Voluteer as much as possible to help my ASID peers and Industry Partners at their events 

CANDIDATE STATEMENT:

Since becoming the Miami Dade Community Ambassador in 2018, being involved with my local ASID Chapter has been such a positive outcome for me as a designer. Being part of this ASID chapter also not only has had me learn from most of our board members, but now I would have the hope that I could help new members and Industry Partners as well. 

I also feel that with the ability that I have to talk about my passion for design, I would always be able to communicate valuable information to guide members in the best direction. The desire I have is to be able to contribute the best of me along my professional team members to grow with them and to thrive within our chapter. I am here to work and help my board have the best term ever.
