CANDIDATE STATEMENT:

“I am officially Memberships Chair with our chapter, keeping mostly the communications daily tasks.  Because our NKBA chapter has been quiet for some time, we are really all working together to bring it back to life, happily with great success so far.

A general description of my responsibilities as Membership/Communications Chair include:

Daily tasks for Communications:

  • Welcome new members individually as they are reported from National.
  • Use Constant Contact to send out newsletters, chapter updates and events invitations/information.
  • EZ Text platform to blast text to members for event registration and reminders.
  • Social media posts design and maintenance.

General tasks with the board:

  • Work together with the Chapter President and Programs Chair to plan and promote events.
  • Communicate with National about new members or local events planning.
  • Communicate with prospective new members to invite them to join us, sharing benefits and advantages.
  • Plan and promote our chapter message while in the events.

This is the first time that I participate in any association’s board, and it has been a great learning experience. I have really enjoyed collaborating with my peers and meeting new people in our trade. One big accomplishment is our social media growth. Starting March 2022, we went from zero followers to 267, as of today.

As an interior designer, I am very excited to become more active with the ASID community. To learn and share my professional experience with others. Help spread the ASID message with our community and hopefully bring closer the younger designers just starting in our professional field.

I would like to be able to pass the NCIDQ exam and positively help others through the process.”
